Fidelity Bank Plc on Thursday gave out N19 million to 13 customers, who emerged winners in the “Get Alert in Millions Savings Promo Season 4” draw that is ongoing. Nine customers received one million naira each, two got two million naira each and two others received three million naira each. Eighteen customers also received consolation prizes. Gov. Umahi presents 178bn budget for 2020
Gov. David Umahi of Ebonyi on Friday, presented a budget of N178.1 billion for 2020 to the state House of Assembly. The budget was lower than the 2019 figure of 188.4billion. Umahi while presenting the budget, tagged ‘budget of growth, consolidation and transformation, expressed appreciation to the House and other critical stakeholders who ensured the effective implementation of the 2019 budget. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State says he has approved the sum of N200 million for The Polytechnic, Ibadan to secure accreditation for some of its courses and another N100 million for capital projects in the 2020 budget. Two men on Friday appeared before a Yaba Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for allegedly possessing N26,500 fake naira notes and attempting to use the same to buy hemp at the Tejuosho Market, Yaba. . The defendants – Sunday Uche, 24, and Patrick Chidiebere, 25- are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and possession of forged banknotes. They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge. An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Friday remanded a 27-year-old job applicant, Jacob Odili, in the Kirikiri Correctional Centre, for allegedly robbing a man of N70,000 cell phone, with a toy gun. The Chief Magistrate, Mrs O.A. Aderibigbe, who gave the order, did not take the plea of the defendant. She said that Odili should be remanded pending advice from the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). NYSC partners FRSC to protect corps members
The Ondo State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Rotimi Adeleye, has said that the FRSC has received marching orders to protect corps members nationwide. Adeleye said this when the state NYSC Coordinator, Mrs Grace Akpabio, paid an official visit to his office on Friday in Akure. According to the commander, the directive came from the Corps Marshall, Boboye Oyeyemi, after he met with the Director-General of the scheme, Brig.-Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim. The police in Lagos on Friday arraigned three men – Sunday Joseph, Kazeem Kareem, and Moses Nworie – who allegedly stole eight inverter batteries worth N1.4 million Joseph, 31, Kareem, 27, and Nworie, 39, are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing, before an Ikeja Chief Magistrate Court, They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
