AN OPEN LETTER TO MY EX-OGBANJE GIRLFRIEND.
My Dear Mopelola, I am deeply sorry for writing this open letter since you appeared in my dream last night where you strongly warned me not to expose some of the secrets you told me about your troubled childhood during our brief relationship. The first time I saw you at Ikeja Under Bridge bus stop in Lagos, a shock travelled down my spine as if hypnotised by unseen gods. It was love at first sight for me. I was totally carried away by your beauty and shape. As if recovering from a remotely-controlled trance, unable to even speak to you…

In the last few days I have read the asinine reports and comments in newspapers and online of people who have joined the Akpabio Choral Group. I have been inundated with a not a few such comments by some of my friends who have found the entire episode laughable, indeed comic, that the Niger Delta Affairs Minister is now bedecked in the robe of an anti-corruption crusader such that the current forensic audit of the NDDC ordered by the President is being credited to Akpabio, for the simple reason that he has positioned as a clever opportunist and actor! Anyone…
After the Supreme Court threw out the legal challenge by Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on the February 2019 presidential poll last week, two things flashed across my mind. One was a song, the other, a quote from William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, which I’d read over 40 years ago. First, the song: The strife is o’er, the battle done, The victory of life is won, The song of triumph has begun, Alleluia! And then Shakespeare, as Macbeth was confronted by Macduff at the battlefront, and the former realized he had been fooled by the witches who had predicted…
