YouTube on Tuesday unveiled two new initiatives to support the growth of YouTube Creators in Nigeria. The initiatives were YouTube-driven promotional campaign that features upcoming content from top local YouTube channels and Creators and partnership with MTN, which provides Creators with free data for three months. Also MTN launched new packages to enable Nigerians to watch more of their favourite YouTube content. The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) says it has commenced a major “Revenue Protection Campaign”, with a crack team of over 60 executives and officers to curb aggregate, technical and commercial losses. The Chief Operating Officer, Mr John Ayodele, made the disclosure in a statement after inaugurating the team in Ibadan. Ayodele said that revenue protection was needed to block leakages that could make the company go under. Osinbajo presides over NEC meeting
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday presided over the monthly National Economic Council (NEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The vice president, by the provisions of Nigeria’s Constitution, is the Chairman of NEC. The NEC meeting, held monthly, deliberates on the coordination of the economic planning efforts and economic programmes of the various levels of government. The U.S Embassy in Abuja on Tuesday advised professionals and young people including students to desist from clicking on any site except those considered secure to guard against cyber fraud. A Lagos High Court in Ikeja on Tuesday ordered the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa to appear before it in connection with the ongoing probe of procurement of 820 buses by the administration of former Governor of the State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode. The Senate has directed the management of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) to stay action on the recent increment of tuition fees for students attending the institution. The upper chamber on Tuesday also mandated its Committee on Tertiary Education and TETFUND to investigate the matter in a bid to finding lasting solution to the issue.
