The government of Oyo State has approved the release of the sum of N526 million as running costs for its 2,500 primary schools and about 640 secondary schools. A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seyi Makinde, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, which was made public on Monday in Ibadan, confirmed that the sum of N400 million has been advanced to the secondary schools, while the primary schools got the sum of N126 million. The Nigerian Police has arrested one Isiaka Ayobami of No. 2, Ayo Ijaiye Street, Isheri, Lagos, for forcefully seizing a one-year-old girl, Aishat Isiaka, from her mother and hitting her on the ground. The Ogun Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has advised motorists to minimize night traveling to avoid being victims of armed robbery attacks and reduce carnages on the highways.
