Ocean Marine Solution Limited (OMSL) has faulted the claim by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) that the Secure Anchorage Area (SSA) manned by it, in collaboration with the Nigerian Navy, constituted a threat to national security. A Secure Anchorage Area is an area outside the Lagos port that the Nigerian Navy, together with OMSL, has defined as a secure place where vessels can anchor safely from the threat of pirate attacks. The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof Idowu Olayinka has handed over six officials of its Distance Learning Center to the Department of the State Security over examination malpractice. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) gathered that the officials were arrested last Friday and had been cooling their heels in the custody of the DSS before they were released on Monday on administrative bail . Justice Folashade Giwa-Ogunbanjo of the Federal High Court on Monday again frowned at the ICPC over its constant failure to provide witnesses in court in the trial of Mr Kawu Modibbo, Director-General, National Broadcasting Commission (NBC). News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the ICPC charged Modibbo, Pinnacle Communications Ltd and two others with alleged misappropriation of N2.5 billion for the Digital Switch Over project of the Federal Government. Minority leader of the Senate, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene in the impeachment of Kogi State Deputy Governor, Mr Simon Achuba by the House of Assembly. Edward Onoja, running mate of Yahaya Bello, governor of Kogi, in the November 16 gubernatorial election, has been sworn in as the deputy governor of the state. The swearing-in ceremony held at the Kogi government house on Monday. The ceremony followed his confirmation by the Kogi state house of assembly. The Lagos State Police Command has arrested an 18-year-old Elikor Ehud, in Ejigbo area of the state for allegedly stealing tithes and offerings belonging to Chosen Vine Ministry, Furniture Avenue.
