The absence on Tuesday of three of the five students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), facing trial for allegedly gang-raping a student of the institution has stalled their criminal trial. The students are facing trial at an Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court for allegedly raping a 17-year-old student of UNILAG. The five students facing trial are: Moboluwaji Omowole, 19, Chuka Chukwu, 19, Peace Nwankama, 19, James Aguedu, 20, and Josephine Osemeka, 20. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said on Tuesday that it foiled attempt to vandalize NNPC pipeline at Ipara in Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun. Mr Hammed Abodunrin, the Commandant of NSCDC in the state disclosed this in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ipara. Abodunrin said that operatives of the corps recovered five vehicles and 150 jerrycans with some filled with petroleum products from the vandals. The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Tuesday in Abuja winged its first female fighter pilot, first female helicopter pilot and first female Air Warrant Officer. The first female fighter (combatant) pilot winged is Flying Officer Kafayat Sanni and first female helicopter pilot, Tolulope Arotile. They were the two female pilots among the 13 that were winged. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Tuesday warned the public against fraudsters and scammers claiming to have shortlisted candidates for the recruitment exercise on behalf of the agency. Mr Jonah Achema, Head of Public Affairs, NDLEA, gave the warning in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
