The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has intercepted two Nigerien with pistols, computers and phones at Kongolam border, Katsina. NIS Public Relations Officer, Mr Sunday James made this known in a statement in Abuja on Saturday. The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association (IPMAN) has backed the decision of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) not to allocate petroleum products to depot owners who failed to settle debts owed Petroleum Equalisation Fund (PEF). Alhaji Bashir Danmalam, the IPMAN Chairman, North west zone, said on Sunday while speaking to newsmen in Kano. Oyo Govt Says Not Increasing Tax
The Oyo State Government has assured the people of the state that it will not increase tax on business enterprises to boost Internally Generated Revenue (IGR). Mr John Adeleke, the Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Internal Revenue Service, gave the assurance while addressing newsmen in Ibadan on Sunday. According to Adeleke, Gov. The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has adopted Governor Yahaya Bello as its candidate for the Nov. 16 governorship election in the state. The National Organising Secretary of the group, Aliyu Saleh, who made the declaration at a news conference in Lokoja on Saturday, directed Fulanis in the state to immediately embark on Ruga-to-Ruga campaign for the re-election of Mr Bello.
