The Presidency has distanced President Muhammadu Buhari from a letter in circulation, which alleged that the President had authorized Gov. Nasir el-Rufai to “deal with traitors and disloyal members of APC, especially Senator Shehu Sani. Malam Garba Shehu, the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, made this known in a statement in Abuja on Sunday. A former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, has emerged the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate for the 2019 election. He emerged after a keenly contested primary held at Adokiye Amesiamaka Stadium, Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, on Sunday. Real estate developer, Mr Babatunde Gbadamosi, has emerged as the Lagos State governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) for the 2019 election. Jimi Agbaje has emerged the governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State. He polled 1,100 votes to defeat his rival Adedeji Doherty who polled 742 votes in the party’s primary election, according to Channels Television .
