Alhaji Abdullahi Maikanti, the Chairman, Hadejia Local Government Council in Jigawa, on Wednesday said that the 47 deaths recorded in the area had no link with coronavirus (COVID-19). The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the deaths were said to have occurred between April 30 and May 6. Maikanti said only three people died within the period, contrary to media reports which claimed that 100 persons died of mysterious ailments in 10 days. The Lagos State Ministry of Health has announced the recovery and discharge of 60 COVID-19 patients, the highest single figure of recovery in the state and Nigeria.
