Covid-19: Bayelsa Taskforce says 140 blood samples sent to NCDC for March, April test negative
The Bayelsa State Taskforce on COVID-19 on Monday said that the 140 blood samples sent to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) approved laboratory in Edo, have all tested negative. The Police Command in Oyo State has decried the incessant cases of false distress calls by residents in different parts of the state. A statement issued on Monday in Ibadan by the state command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Olugbenga Fadeyi, appealed to residents to desist from making false distress calls as they were distractions. Some students of the University of Ilorin have organized palliatives for about 200 members, who were unable to go home during the lockdown against the COVID-19. Mr Okoko Wisdom, the President of the University of Ilorin Students’ Union, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday that food items, worth N100,000, were distributed to the students who were stranded in school. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has published the 2019 provisional matriculation list of admitted candidates on the official website of the board. The board disclosed this in its weekly bulletin made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Abuja. The Airlines Operators of Nigeria (AON) has appealed to the Federal Government for immediate access to the N50 billion COVID-19 Intervention Fund with the Central Bank of Nigeria at a five per cent interest rate.
