The Performance Director of Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), Gabriel Okon said on Thursday that the rate of spread of the deadly Coronavirus would not deter the federation from preparing the country’s athletes for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has approved the appointment of Prof. Adesegun Fatusi as the new Vice-Chancellor of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo, Ondo State, with immediate effect. Prof. Fatusi will replace the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Friday Okonofua, following the successful completion of his five-year tenure. The Lagos State Government on Thursday said no fewer than 50,000 Real Estate Agents and Property Developers have registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as operators in the sector. In a bid to stem the spread of the Coronavirus, Ogun Government has called on the leadership of the Redeemed Christians Church of God (RCCG) to join the government in enlightening its members. The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has empowered women and youths in Targeri, Birniwa Local Government Area of Jigawa. The authority distributed 110 sewing and grinding machines to the beneficiaries. Nigeria and the Japanese Government have signed an $18.2m grant agreement to strengthen the capacity of Network laboratories of the Nigeria Centre of Disease Control for accurate medical and laboratory investigations.
