Council Chairmen and other political office holders in the 16 Local Government Areas of Ekiti have been charged to be faithful in the information they fill in their Code of Conduct Forms. The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has commenced training for its social mobilisation staff and the School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) desk officers of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The UBEC is organising the 5-day workshop in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). Enugu State Civil Servants on Tuesday paid a ‘thank you visit’ to Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for the payment of the new minimum wage in the state. The House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts has directed a status inquiry on Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) over the agency’s claim of not having management accounts between 2012 and 2017. Chairman of the committee, Rep. Wole Oke, gave the directive during an investigative hearing into the presentation of audit reports of ministries, departments and agencies on Tuesday.
