The Anambra State House of Assembly has called on the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to take proactive measure to checkmate the alleged recklessness of tipper drivers on the highways in the state. Kebbi State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mamuda Warra has called on the people to protect public facilities in their communities for sustainable social and economic development of the state. Mr Ayinla Adeyinka, the new commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Lagos State, has said that the command will engage in strict supervision during JAMB and WAEC examinations. Suletankarkar Local Government in Jigawa says the fire has razed 10 houses harbouring silos in Dirani village in the state. The council Information Officer, Alhaji Usman Abubakar, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Suletankarkar that the silos contained grains worth over N5 million. Abubakar said the silos contained sorghum, beans, and guinea corn, among others. Abubakar said the fire, which occurred late on Sunday, was believed to have started from a kitchen in one of the houses.
