The Northeast Development Commission (NEDC) has distributed relief materials to 4, 000 victims of Boko Haram insurgents’ attack in Auno community of Konduga Local Government Area of Borno. Mohammed Alkali, NEDC Managing Director, made the disclosure at the distribution of the relief items to the affected persons on Monday in Auno, Borno. Alkali disclosed that food and non food items would be distributed to the victims to mitigate their sufferings due to the unfortunate incident. A total of 40, 000 registered farmers under the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN), in Kano state will benefit from the Anchor Borrowers’ Programme during the 2020 dry season farming. Alhaji Ado Hassan, the state’s RIFAN Secretary, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Monday in Kano. The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu has reiterated that no tertiary institution will admit candidates outside the Central Admission Process System (CAPS) of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). The Zone RS2 Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), comprising Ogun and Lagos states, says it has prosecuted 158 traffic offenders from January 1 to February 17. The Zonal Commanding Officer, Mr Samuel Obayemi, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Monday. Obayemi said that 155 of the prosecuted offenders were convicted of various traffic offences, while the remaining three were discharged. Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi has warned heads of ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) and members of his cabinet against inflating costs of projects and contracts. He gave the warning on Monday in Lokoja while declaring open a two-day induction, orientation and policy absorption workshop for members of his cabinet and other political office holders in the state. The Osun House of Assembly on Monday passed the Osun Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps Bill 2020 for first reading after it was presented by the Speaker, Mr Timothy Owoeye.
