The Nigerian Army has confirmed an ambush by the Boko Haram terrorists on the convoy of the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole (OPLD), Maj.-Gen. Olusegun Adeniyi, on Monday. The National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP) says it is working toward reducing malaria burden in the country by 13 per cent in 2023. The Coordinator of the programme, Dr Audu Mohammed, told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Monday that Nigeria currently accounted for 25 per cent of the global malaria burden.
