A Karu Grade I Area Court on Monday ordered that a 33-year-old applicant, Adeleke Senn, who was caught with 13 allegedly stolen phone, be remanded in Keffi correctional facility, pending bail application. The Judge, Mr Sani Mohammed, who gave the order, adjourned the matter until Nov. 4, for hearing in the bail application. The police charged Senn, who resides in Mararaba, Nasarawa State, with three counts of receiving stolen property, belonging to a gang of thieves and being in possession of stolen property. The Lagos State Government says it will tackle the menace of unauthorised real estate practitioners across the state. The Special Adviser (SA) to the Governor on Housing, Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka, said this in a statement in Lagos on Monday. Benson-Awoyinka said that the state government had planned a stakeholders forum for real estate practitioners, aimed at tackling the menace. NIS rolls out enhanced E-passport in Kano
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) says it has commenced issuance of the enhanced E-passport at the Kano Main Passport Office located at Farm Centre, Kano. The Service Public Relations Officer (SPRO) Mr Sunday James made this known in a statement on Monday in Abuja. He said that the enhanced e-Passport was presented to Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano and his wife during the official roll out of the document. The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) says it will soon introduce various categories of visas for the country as part of its visa reform. The Comptroller General of Immigration (CGI) Mohammad Babandede disclosed this in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Benin. Babandede said that the visa categories being considered were visa for tourists, visa for retirees outside the country who wish to retire in Nigeria and visa for incentive/investors. Nigeria’s Supreme Court has fixed Wednesday, October 30, 2019, to hear the appeal filed by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Peter Obi, challenging the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 presidential election.
