The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has charged the National Association of Patent and Proprietary Medicine Dealers (NAPPMED) to abide by the agency’s rules and guidelines. The Police Command in Akwa Ibom said it had reunited Master Samuel Asuquo (4), who got missing on Sunday, with his family. Mr Zaki Ahmed, the Commissioner of Police in the state, announced this in a statement issued by SP Odiko Macdon, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the command in the state on Wednesday. 36-year-old Wale Adam on Wednesday appeared before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State over alleged theft, assault and malicious damage against three persons in Badagry. Adam, whose address was not provided in the charge sheet, is facing a one-count charge of stealing, assault and malicious damage, to which he pleaded not guilty. IMF lowers global growth forecast for 2019
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has lowered its global growth forecast for 2019 to 3 per cent in the newly-released World Economic Outlook (WEO) report, down 0.2 percentage point from its estimation in July, reported Xinhua news agency. The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Enugu Field Office, has sealed six Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) plants and three petrol stations in Ebonyi in the last seven days. Mr Okechukwu Okoro, the Controller of the field office, which comprises Enugu and Ebonyi states, disclosed this on Wednesday in Enugu in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). Okoro said the facilities were sealed due to infringement, ranging from operating without licence and under dispensing. The meeting between the organized labour and representatives of the Federal Government has been moved till Wednesday, Oct. 16, to allow for sorting out of all grey areas of contention. The Police have uncovered another fake Islamic Centre housing 300 inmates in Nassarawa Quarters, Sabon Gari, Daura, the home town of President Muhammad Buhari. The discovery is barely two weeks after a similar discovery in Kaduna with chained inmates. An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, on Tuesday, granted two employees, Tunde Zubair and Emmanuel Zegeor, a bail of N20,000 each for allegedly stealing diesel valued N9,000. Zubair, 43, driver, and Zegeor, 32, security guard, were being tried for conspiracy and stealing. The magistrate, Mrs O.A. Aderibigbe, granted the defendants bail after they pleaded not guilty to the charge. Aderibigbe asked the defendants to produce one surety each, as part of the bail conditions.
