The Ogun House of Assembly has called on the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), to ensure that all vehicles plying the roads in the state installed speed limit device to avert crashes arising from excessive speed. Mr Olakunle Oluomo, the Speaker, stated this during plenary on Tuessay in Abeokuta. Nigeria’s war against corruption attracting international endorsements – President Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday said his administration has taken measures to strengthen anti-corruption agencies to ensure total fight against corruption in the country. Buhari said that the measures, including various national reforms and collaborative efforts with international organisations, were being made to strengthen the anti-corruption crusade. The President made the disclosure during the passing out parade of 281 cadets of the EFCC Detective Inspector Course-5, at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna. Mr Abu Simon of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) on Tuesday, described the whistle blowing policy of the Federal Government as a veritable tool in the fight against corruption. Simon, a Deputy Director, Reforms and Coordination Service Improvement, stated this in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna. A magazine, “Safety Focus”, aims at educating road users on safety measures to reduce avoidable road accidents in Anambra, was on Tuesday launched by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has trained more than 1, 4 million ex-corps members on its skill acquisition entrepreneurship programme that was launched in 2012. The Director-General of the scheme, Brig.-Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, said this in Abuja on Tuesday in an interview with newsmen. The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) says Nigeria will soon begin online ship registration. The Director-General of NIMASA, Dr Dakuku Peterside, made this known in Lagos on Tuesday. Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State says that his administration has spent over N13 billion on the rehabilitation and construction of schools across the 18 local government areas of the state. The Lagos State Government on Tuesday inducted 1,000 newly employed secondary school teachers to boost education standarg in the state. National Directorate of Employment (NDE) says it has disbursed N7.7 million as grant to 770 petty women traders in Jigawa. Mr Abubakar Jamo, NDE Coordinator in the state, made disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Dutse.
