The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has commended the management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) on its plan to site a mega station in Ile-Ife. Oba Ogunwusi gave the commendation when the Management of Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Osogbo Field Office, paid a courtesy visit to his palace in Ile-Ife on Thursday. Gov. Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state on Thursday charged the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) to help in tackling moral decadence and youths’ restiveness in the society. The United Nations Development Programme has keyed into a social protection model introduced by Governor Babagana Umara Zulum in enforcing his ban against political thuggery in Borno state. A young man identified as Paul Onomuakpokpo has been killed by gunmen suspected to be hired assassins. Mr. Paul who was also the ward Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Olomu, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State was killed on Wednesday night along the Ogoni Road near the palace of Olomu Kingdom. Reports suggest that armed assassins ambushed the PDP Chieftain and rained bullets on him and his Toyota Camry car. He dies from his gunshot injuries. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), says it has retained the minimum 65 per cent of Loan Deposit Ratio (LDR) in the interim. The CBN made this known in a circular signed by its Director of Banking Supervision, Mr Ahmad Abdullahi in Abuja on Wednesday. The bank explained that it had noticed a remarkable increase in the size of gross credit by the Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) to customers. Gov. Aminu Masari of Katsina State, on Thursday, signed the state’s N244.8 billion 2020 budget into law.
