18bn litres of PMS supplied in 2019- PPPRA
The Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) said that over 18 billion litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) also known as petrol was supplied in Nigeria in the year 2019. PPPRA disclosed this in its PMS report signed by its Executive Secretary, Alhaji Abdulkadir Saidu and released in Abuja, on Wednesday. It said that the total quantity of PMS supplied across the nation as of November 2019 was 18.6 billion litres and the PMS average sufficiency stood at 40.68 days. Media Rights Agenda (MRA) has filed a suit at the Federal High Court in Abuja accusing the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) of consistently breaching its statutory duties under the Freedom of Information Act, 2011 in flagrant violation of the organization’s right of access to information under the Act. Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has assured that no worker in the payroll of the state government would earn less than the national minimum wage. Makinde gave the assurance on Wednesday during the 2020 Inter-Religious Prayer Service, organized by the state government at the State Secretariat, Agodi in Ibadan. A Makurdi Magistrate’s court on Wednesday remanded two persons -Terence Ordoom and Daniel Aduku in a correctional facility for alleged conspiracy and illegal possession of firearms. The Magistrate, Mrs Ajuma Igama did not take the plea of the accused persons for want of jurisdiction and adjourned the case till Jan. 21 for mention. Police prosecutor, Sgt. A Kaduna Magistrates’ Court, on Wednesday, sentenced two mechanics, Isah Yusuf, 34, and Mohammed Shehu, 31, to six months imprisonment each for stealing two tricycle engines. Yusuf and Saleh, both reside in Ungwan Shanu area of Kaduna, had pleaded guilty to conspiracy and theft. Magistrate Umar Ibrahim, however, gave the convicts options to pay fines of N10,000 each.
